ETSI EN 300 328 V1.8.1 and EN 301 893 V1.7.1 was released in 2012, and will take effect by Dec. 31st, 2014, for all wireless devices operating in 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands on European market.
The new version standards employ new concept and test items such as MU (Medium Utilization Factor), Adaptivity, Receiver Blocking. And 4x4 MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) support is required. Additionally, EN 301 893 V1.7.1 updates test requirements for DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection).
In another word, the new standards greatly increase the complexity of testing.
Ascentest AT890 automatic test system was released on Sep. 1st, 2014 to overcome all the difficulty and complexity for testing according to EN 300 328 V1.8.1 & EN 301 893 V1.7.1. |
1. Complete system solution is strictly compliant to the new version standards for all test items for 2.4GHz & 5GHz devices.
2. Optimized system structure and comprehensive system calibration techniques to ensure highly accurate testing.
3. Modular system platform for flexible hardware and software configuration. Eg. customers’ in-stock test equipment can be utilized in the system, to protect the customers’ previous investment.
4. “Full System” configuration for “Connect and Play”, performs all tests with DUT connection only once.
5. “Software Only” configuration for low-cost entry level "Semi-Automatic" test system with some external RF components.
6. Friendly software interface and test wizard, with detailed test report.
7. Verified by famous test labs.

AT890 System Structure:
All system components can be installed in a 1.6m EIA System Rack.

AT890 system consists of 3 categories of system components:
1. Test Instruments, including:
a) Spectrum Analyzer: Max. 13GHz or 26.5GHz, with basic function, for Transmitter test.
b) USB Power Sensor (x4) and DAQ (x2): For 4x4 MIMO test. Half the qty. is needed for 2x2 MIMO only.
c) Vector Signal Generator: Max. 6GHz, with AWGN function, to generate Interferer for Adaptivity, and DFS (5GHz Only).
d) CW Signal Generator: Max. 3GHz, basic signal source, to generate Blocker for Adaptivity (2.4GHz Only).
e) Companion Device: For establishing connection with DUT. (Optional)
2. RF Interface Box (AT890-RFB), the core RF component in the system, consists of:
a) Signal Switching Module (DC~18GHz)
To switch DUT signal to different test instruments, such as Power Sensors or Spectrum Analyzer.
System calibration function is also supported.
Note: Connect DUT to Spectrum Analyzer directly for testing spurious above 18GHz (up to 26GHz), for 5GHz DUT.
b) Signal Conditioning Module
To provide signal conditioning functions, such as Attenuation, Power Dividing, Coupling, Filtering, for Adaptivity,DFS and Spurious test.
3. System Software (AT890-SW):
For system control, automatic test and report generation. All settings are configured in “Test Plan”.
AT890-SW System Software can be ordered separately, to build low-cost entry level “Semi-Automatic” test system with some external RF components.
