The ultra expensive big size RF Anechoic Room is required for far-field OTA (Over The Air) testing on DUTs with lower frequency (longer wavelength) and larger size, such as HF/VHF Radio Antennas and Base Station Smart Antennas. OATS (Open Area Test Site) is a reasonable alternative in the industry. AT600-OATS system software is affordable open area far-field OTA test system software for Smart Antenna and other large DUTs.
AT600-OATS is a versatile test system software platform not only for Passive Antenna Patttern Test, but also for Active TRP / TIS Test, as well as OSE and EMI Radio Spurious Test.
OATS system is normally built on the top of buildings with at least 4 or 5 floors.
The requirements on the test environment include enough distance between DUT & Reference Antenna, no big obstacles and base station transmitters around the test site.
