System overview

VMNA system is built upon Ascentest high-speed solid-state RF Switch Matrix (100MHz ~ 8GHz), which expands a 2-port Vector Network Analyzer to 8-port or 16-port Vector Network Analysis System.

Due to the system’s ultra high-speed switching and sweeping measurement, all the operators at the 16 ports virtually feel like they are using that single 2-port Vector Network Analyzer exclusively!

This is why this system is named as “Virtual Multi-port Network Analyzer”, or VMNA as abbreviation.

 

VMNA system is capable of measuring 16 single-port reflection coefficients, or 8 two-port reflection & transfer coefficients, virtually at the same time, which greatly increases test efficiency and reduces test cost for RF components production.

 

As can be seen, VMNA is the ideal test tool for the mass production of mobile phone antennas, filters, and other multi-port RF components.

Function characteristics

1. VMNA systems have been deployed for testing the antennas for the most famous smart phones. The system is mature production test tool with superior RF performance, efficiency, operability and adaptivity.

2. RF Performance of the VMNA Solid-state RF Switch Matrix:

3. Ultra High Speed (E5071C, IFBW 70KHz, Sweep Points 401):

4. Versatile System Functions with Flexible Configurations:

  a) Built-in high performance Windows PC greatly simplifies system structure, while external MAC Mini is also supported as system controller.

  b) Max. 8 test stations with 8 LCD Displays are supported. Touch-screen is optional for easier operation.

  c) All test stations’ settings can be adjusted or calibrated independently and separately, without interfering with any other test stations.

  d) Mechanical Calibration Kit and E-Cal are both supported.

  e) Max. 8 Control Boxes (Optional) are supported for the 8 test stations, for triggering test and simply displaying test result with Green / Yellow / Red lights.

  f) Fail-safe Boxes (Optional) to avoid mixing the Failed DUTs with the Passed ones.
